Itinerary
Bishkek (City Tour)
After arriving to the International Airport Manas, our guide and driver will pick you up to the hotel. You will have some time to have rest after long flight. In the afternoon you will start to discover the city and go to the Osh-Bazar open-air market, Ala-Too square, Oak Park and Old square " Victory". Dinner in the local restaurant or cafe. Night at the hotel.
Bishkek-Karakol
Today, we will take a road along the northern shore of Issyk-Kul. Stop in Cholpon-Ata (petroglyphs). Dinner in Karakol in the evening we will taste Kygyz national food "Beshbarmak". (400 km) 6-7 hours of driving.
Karakol - Dzhyluu-Suu
Transfer to the gorge. Bathing in the wild hot springs of Dzhyluu-Suu. Preparation for the hiking trek. Elevation: about 2200-3000mm. 5-6 hours of hiking.Night in the tent.
Dzhyluu-Suu - Zhumatai Pass - Chon-Kyzyl-Suu
The active part. Ascent to the Zhumatai Pass (3000m). Descent into the picturesque Chon-Kyzyl-Suu Gorge to the old physical-geographical station. 5-6 hours of hiking. Night in the tent.
Archa-Tor Pass - Suyuttu-Bulak
Crossing the Archa-Tor Pass (2800m) will be the highest point on this section. Descent into the Jeti-Oguz Valley to the Suyuttu-Bulak campsite. 5-6 hours of hiking. Night in the tents.
Suyuttu-Bulak - "Broken Heart" Cliffs - Karakol
Descent through the famous red "Seven Bulls" cliffs. Return to Karakol, hot shower, and civilization. 3-4 hours of hiking. Night in the guest house or at the hotel.
Karakol - Bokonbaevo
Drive along the southern coast. Visit the "Skazka" Canyon and the Barskoon Gorge (waterfalls). Falconry show in Bokonbaevo. Overnight in a yurt camp.
Bokonbaevo - Tash-Rabat (350 km)
A long drive towards the Chinese border. Arrival at a 15th-century medieval caravanserai, hidden in a deep gorge. 5-6 hours of driving.Night at in the yurts. Altitude: 3500m
Radial Exit to Tash-Rabat Pass
Ascent to the pass (4200m), offering views of Lake Chatyr-Kul and the Torugart Range. Return to the yurts at the caravanserai. Night in the yurts.
Tash-Rabat - Naryn - Ak-Talaa - Son-Kul
A route through picturesque serpentines and the Naryn River valley. Ascent to Lake Son-Kul (m). There is no signal here, only stars and yurts. 5-6 hours of driving. Altitude: 3000m
Son-Kul - Kara-Keche Pass - Kyzyl-Oi
Descent through the Kara-Keche coal mine. The landscape changes from alpine meadows to the red cliffs of the Kokomeren River gorge. Overnight in the authentic village of Kyzyl-Oy. 3-4 hours of driving.Night at the guest house.
Kyzyl-Oi - Suusamyr - Bishkek
We cross the endless Suusamyr Valley. Drive through the Tyuz-Ashuu Pass (3200m) and a long tunnel. Return to Bishkek. Final dinner. Night at the hotel. 4-5 hours of driving
🎒 What to Take
Clothing:
- Dress in layers: base layer, warm layer - A warm hat is recommended in some areas. - Extra socks and underwear. - Comfortable sneakers or trekking shoes. - Also bring: a headlamp, sunglasses, and sunscreen.
Luggage
A small backpack (20–30 liters) for personal items you may need during the day. Avoid heavy and bulky items.
